AI Tools Weekly — October 11, 2026
Five things worth knowing this week if you're building content with AI tools: websites are blocking far more AI bots, Anthropic shipped a cheaper small model and updated its usage policy, Nectar connected social data to AI assistants, and Moonshot AI showed what 1,000 agents can do together.

Websites Are Blocking Far More AI Bots
Sites on Cloudflare's network denied 13.47% of AI bot requests in the third quarter of 2026, compared with 5.98% in the same quarter of 2025. The figures come from Cloudflare Radar data analyzed by TechnologyChecker.io, as reported by Agile Brand Guide.

Why it matters for creators: blocking or allowing AI crawlers is now a real strategic choice. Allowing them can earn your site citations in AI answers; blocking them protects your content.

Why it matters for creators: cheaper models behind the tools you use can mean lower subscription prices or higher usage limits.

Anthropic Updates Its Usage Policy, Effective November 12
Anthropic's updated usage policy takes effect on November 12. Per TechCrunch, it bars sustained, needless abuse of Claude and groups rules against deceiving voters or disrupting elections under a section titled “Do Not Undermine Democratic Processes”. Other sections prohibit deceptive campaigns, such as fake accounts or fabricated news outlets.
